The 15th International Peace Marathon Festival

The International Peace Marathon Festival will be held on September 30, 2017, co-sponsored by Gangnam-gu Government and the Eighth United States Army (EUSA).
This event is aimed to promote world peace and unity and share compassion with children in need from around the world with the attendance of U.S. Forces in Korea, diplomats stationed in Korea, foreign residents and marathon aficionados. Entry fees will be used to help people in need through Gangnam Welfare Foundation and UNICEF. Please come on out and be a part of the event.

  • Races: Full-marathon, half-marathon, 10K and 5K.

Important information and Terms & Conditions
  • Thank you for joining the 15th International Peace Marathon Festival.
    In order to prevent accidents and improve safety, it is recommended that the disabled, senior citizens and those who have not trained refrain from registering. Please note that even those in good health can suffer injury without adequate rest prior to the race.

  • While the full marathon and half-marathon are open to men and women over 18 years old, 10K and 5K races are open to runners of all ages. Children must register with a guardian.

    Here are a few things that you need to be aware of before registration.

  • Please choose your race with consideration for your physical ability. In order to ensure runner safety, the host of the event will buy accident insurance for all participants and ambulances will be located along the course and at the finish.
    The host of the event will not be responsible for any injuries and accidents apart from giving emergency care and paying medical costs that are covered by the accident insurance.

    - Insurance
    The organizers purchase insurance for all participants.
    The organizers will not be responsible for any incidents or injuries caused by participants' chronic diseases. on their health conditions during the race.

  • ‘During the race’ means when you officially check in for the race on the race day until finish the race and disorganization on the same day.

  • Liability refers to sudden and unforeseen accidents caused by external events without the fault of the entrants causing bodily harm.
    - Ex : Fracture or bodily injury due to a fall.

  • Illness accidents originated from the body and myocardial infarction, brain hemorrhage, respiratory difficulty, vomiting, cramp and others are classified under
    this category.
    - All injuries except sprain, fracture or skin piercing can be classified as illness accidents.

  • Marathon Injuries means due to the drastic and coincidental accident during the marathon, having a permanent damage on the body
    after the treatment. The insurance provider will cover on the extent damage. However, it will not be related to the disease or the injury
    that have already occurred.

  • Any death claim following the race will be tested for alcohol and other substance tests. Any death unrelated to the marathon will not
    be compensated. Please avoid and refrain from alcoholic drinking and any other activities which may hinder bodily recovery following
    the race.
    ▲As changing regulations of the financial supervisory service, the previous regulations about payment for the marathon treatment do not apply anymore.
    ▲ Because of those reasons, the organizers will not cover the medical expenses for injury and disease. Entrants must sign up for the insurance individually.

  • All runners must attach a timing chip to their race number (bib number) in order to be recognized as completing the race and receiving an official finish time. If you don't attach the chip or you don't step on the mats located at the start, halfway point and finish line, your record will not be measured and you will be disqualified.


  • After registration, you may not give or sell your registration number to others.
    Doing so could result in disqualification for you as well as for the runner who uses your race number and your certificate of finish will not be issued.


  • Entry fees are non- refundable on or after September 8(closing date of application) without exceptions
